Medical casters & wheels for hospital beds

Hospital bed caster wheels are equip with central locking brakes for the easy of handling, maneuvering and positioning the hospital bed. The general set up of wheels under a hospital- or care bed consists of :1 caster wheel which can brake the wheel and swivel rotation as well as only a brake on the swivel rotation (directional lock) so the direction of the swivel rotation is fixed and the bed,3 caster Directional locking brakes----Central locking caster wheels

For setting of straight ahead motion, the use of a directional locking brake integrated in the fixing pin is recommended.

The mechanism allows a central pedal to select the following modes of operation:

1: Motion straight ahead (only when equipped with directional locking brake mode)
2: Changes of direction: free mobility of all castors
3: Full locking of all four castors

For fitting the wheel to the bed we have to take you through the ## following easy steps to determine the right types connector.

Step 1. Fixing pins angle movement.

We offer two types both with a different angle for the total lock and the directional lock movement: the standard fixing pin has a 41° & 52° one with a 30°

Standard-cam (41° and 52°) 30°-cam

Step 2. Dimension of fixing pins

Both types have 4 tapped fixing holes and are suiteble for: switching shaft variants A/B, switching shaft in line or across direction of travel

For the "long pin" with insertion measurement Ø 28mm additional snap-on adapter sleeves for different tube measurements are available.

Standard insertion measurement Ø 28mm                  Standard insertion measurement Ø 32mm

Step 3. Type of switching shaft

Currently most hospital bed caster wheels are equip er with an hexagonal cam hole.

Step 4. Size of the threaded hole

M8 y = 19  mm
M6 y = 7 mm

y = Distance from the tube seat to the middle of the threaded hole
x = Distance from the tube seat to middle of the switching bar

Step 5. Direction of foot pedal
